Drawing and painting (tween and teen)
This course is for children ages 10 and older.
It is a course to introduce children in the technical and creative aspects of drawing and painting so they can find their own visual language.
We teach them to observe reality so they can later interpret it using different techniques.
We work with different techniques and materials in order to increase training possibilities.
We want to encourage artistic education by training students in the creative process, sensibility and the look on things, as another way of enjoying the world.
By learning to draw and paint we open a new way to approach art with a new and more enriching look.
Regarding the drawing, students learn to layout, proportions, volumes, and perspectives by using line and stains and materials such as pencil, charcoal, grease pencil, ink, colour ink, watercolour pencil, wax pastels, pastels, etcetera.
We experiment with collage, oil paint, acrylics, colour inks, ink, watercolours, gouache, chalk, and various materials such as cardboard, recycled papers, wood, cloth, canvas paper, foamcore cardboard, etcetera.
In terms of the use of colour, we start from the primary colours with monochrome exercises, warm and cold colours, learning tones and values.
We also talk about exhibitions, discuss current events and cultural activities to stimulate acquiring knowledge and a personal artistic language.
